We were joined by a panel of four industry experts from the Experts for Expats partner network, who gave an overview of the need-to-knows of investing in UK property including:

  • Opportunities in the UK property market including an overview of the current UK housing landscape and how to identify properties with the strongest potential for return on investment
  • How to navigate property viewings and valuations from abroad including remote viewing tips, due diligence checks and potential red flags to be aware of – whether you’re buying resale or off-plan
  • Understanding UK mortgage options for non-residents including lending criteria, interest rates and what options are available for expats
  • Tax implications of investing in UK property including capital gains tax and how tax on rental income is treated as a non-resident
